This series begins with singular moments of color—monochromatic acrylic paint applied to wood panels in quiet, uniform fields. This initial stillness becomes the stage for transformation.
Through controlled burns, I introduce motion into these static surfaces. Fire becomes my tool of both construction and deconstruction, simultaneously erasing the painted surface while creating new forms. The flame doesn't simply destroy—it layers meaning, revealing gradients from pale to char, from solid color to void.
These pieces document transformation itself, where erasure becomes creation and destruction reveals hidden possibilities within the material
